Several years have passed since the end of The Great War. As the radio tower in Leidenschaftlich continues to be built, telephones will soon become more relevant, leading to a decline in demand for "Auto Memory Dolls." Even so, Violet Evergarden continues to rise in fame after her constant success with writing letters. However, sometimes the one thing you long for is the one thing that does not appear.
The film received awards and nominations, including the awards at Tokyo Anime Awards Festival and Japan Media Arts Festival.
A 15-year-old boy, Hodaka, jumped on a ship bound for Tokyo in order to escape from his current life and the island. After arriving in Tokyo, Hodaka had nowhere to go, no money, no job. And it rained there every day. He is treated to a meal by Hina, a girl who works at the hamburger shop he stopped by. However, Hina was also in need to protect her life with her younger brother Nagi. While each was in danger of losing a job and place to live, Hodaka was informed that Hina had the power to temporarily bring "sunny" locally. Hodaka starts a business that provides "sunny" with Hina and Nagi. But she had to pay for her power.
